With Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF), Amazon also ships orders that do not come from Amazon: from your own Shopify store, eBay or social media shops. You store your stock once with Amazon and use it for every sales channel. This guide explains how Amazon MCF works in the UK and EU, what MCF fees look like in 2026, how to connect Shopify and other channels, and who MCF is right for.
What is Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF)?
Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfilment is an Amazon service that uses your inventory in Amazon fulfilment centres to ship orders from other sales channels. Amazon handles picking, packing, shipping and tracking, just like Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), but for customers outside Amazon.
According to Amazon, MCF works with or without FBA. If you already use FBA, the same stock serves your Amazon customers and your other channels. If you have stock in an Amazon fulfilment centre, no extra registration is needed. Amazon says more than 300,000 sellers worldwide use MCF. In Europe it is available in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, among others.
How Amazon MCF works in 4 steps

- Send stock to Amazon: with or without FBA. One inventory serves all channels.
- Order on another channel: a customer buys in your Shopify store, on eBay or in a social media shop.
- Send the order to MCF: via app, integration software, API or manually in Seller Central.
- Amazon ships: Amazon packs the item and delivers it to your customer, with standard (2 to 3 business days) or expedited delivery (1 to 2 business days).
What is new in 2026
- Unbranded packaging: MCF orders ship in neutral packaging without the Amazon logo for eligible items. Unbranded only means no Amazon branding, your own boxes or inserts are not possible.
- Discounts: according to Amazon, multi-unit orders save 25% on average, and eligible sellers can save a further 20% on fulfilment fees through New Seller Incentives and Preferred Pricing.
- Surcharge: a 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge has applied to FBA fulfilment fees in Europe and the UK since April 2026, and to MCF in Europe since May 2026.
MCF vs Fulfilment by Amazon vs self-fulfilment

| FBA | MCF | Self-fulfilment | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sales channel | Amazon only | all channels outside Amazon | all channels |
| Storage | Amazon | Amazon, same inventory | own warehouse or 3PL |
| Packaging | Amazon | unbranded, no Amazon logo | your own packaging |
| Delivery time | Prime | 1 to 3 business days | depends on carrier |
| Costs | FBA fee per unit | fee per unit, usually higher than FBA | own staff and shipping costs |
Amazon MCF fees 2026
MCF fees are charged per unit and depend on size and weight, delivery speed (standard or expedited), destination and the number of units per order. On top come the normal storage fees for your stock, plus extra fees for very old inventory. MCF usually costs more per unit than FBA, but you save on your own warehouse and packing work. Check current rates on Amazon's MCF pricing pages and in Seller Central. More on all costs in our guide to Amazon FBA costs.
How to send orders to MCF: Shopify and 3 other ways
- Apps and plugins: there are ready-made MCF apps for Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento. Orders from your store go to Amazon automatically.
- Multi-channel software: tools such as ChannelAdvisor or ShipStation connect eBay and other platforms to MCF.
- API: build your own integration with Amazon's interface.
- Manually in Seller Central: in the Inventory menu select the products and click “Create fulfilment order”, then enter address, items and speed. For many orders you can bulk upload an Excel file.
More on navigating your account in our Seller Central guide.
Using MCF for eBay and other marketplaces: is it dropshipping?
No. With dropshipping a third-party supplier ships goods you do not own. With MCF, Amazon ships your own stock that you bought and stored. You remain the seller and are responsible for the order. Still, check each platform's requirements first:
- Delivery times and tracking: marketplaces expect tracking and the promised delivery time. MCF gives you a tracking number to pass on.
- Carriers: some marketplaces have carrier rules. Check whether delivery via Amazon is accepted.
- Inventory sync: if you sell the same stock on several channels, you need software to sync it, or you will oversell.
- Returns: agree how returns from other channels are handled.
Pros and cons of Amazon MCF
- Pros: one warehouse and one inventory for all channels, fast delivery, unbranded packaging, no own logistics and easy scaling in peaks such as the fourth quarter.
- Cons: higher fees per unit than FBA, no own branding, Amazon storage fees and limits also apply, and not every platform accepts every carrier.
Who is Amazon MCF right for?
MCF pays off if you already use FBA and also sell on other channels, such as your own Shopify store or eBay. You avoid a second warehouse and use the same stock. For arbitrage sellers, MCF is useful for slow-moving Amazon stock that you can also list on eBay. ProfitPath plans include an eBay price check to compare prices there. Remember that since Brexit Amazon does not ship FBA or MCF orders between the UK and the EU, so you need stock in both regions. More in Pan-EU vs European Fulfilment Network.
MCF is less suited to brands whose unboxing experience depends on their own packaging, and to heavy or bulky items with high fees.
